Whether you do both on the same day or spread them out is entirely up to you. Your adventure kicks off bright and early as friendly guides take you to the balloon launch site before dawn. Hop aboard with your expert pilot and float over the countryside, soaking in stunning views of the Gold Coast Hinterland and Scenic Rim. After your flight, it's off to an exclusive boutique vineyard for a hot breakfast and sparkling wine.

Then set off on an adventure to get up close with majestic humpback whales aboard one of Australia’s newest and most luxurious whale-watching vessels. Cruise along the ‘Humpback Highway’ and spot these magnificent creatures from six spacious viewing platforms with the stunning Surfers Paradise skyline as a backdrop. Onboard marine experts will also share fascinating facts about these incredible creatures.

Seasons

Time
  • Hot air ballooning and vineyard breakfast begins between 3.50 am to 4.30 am and concludes between 9.45 am to 10.30 am
Duration
  • For the hot air balloon experience please allow approximately six hours in total including the vineyard breakfast and 40 - 65 minute flight
Departure Location
  • Hot air balloon pickup is available from accommodation in Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Main Beach and Southport between 3.50 am and 4.30 am or meet at Nerang or Canungra
  • Whale watching departs Sea World Cruises Main Beach Terminal, located in the car park outside of Sea World
What To Bring
  • It is recommended that you wear long pants and closed in shoes - no heels, slippers or skirts please
  • Bring a jacket and avoid white clothes
  • Hat, sunglasses and camera
  • If your flight time is from April to October (in winter), you need to wear warm clothes; in other months, there will be warm airflow due to the burning of hot air balloons
  • Sea sickness remedy if required
Additional Information
  • For Hot Air Balloon and Whale Watching - All bookings are weather dependent, and in the case of bad weather your booking will be rescheduled
  • The whale watching experience can be taken on the same day or on a different day
  • Children under 3 years cannot participate
  • Children 3 - 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Children aged 13-17 years old can travel on the balloon flight by themselves but must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the tour
  • You must be able to climb up the 1.2-meter foothold ladder into the hot air balloon basket without assistance
  • You must be able to stand for the duration of the flight
Terms And Conditions
  • Pregnant women and those who participated in diving the previous day are not suited to this activity
  • Passengers with medical conditions or that have accessibility issues, please check with your doctor or specialist prior to booking.
  • At no time will a passenger be allowed to fly if their judgment is impaired by alcohol, drugs, or prescription medicine
  • Due to weight and safety restrictions, handbags and backpacks may not be carried on the hot air balloon. Please do not bring large bags
  • Unless the camera fails, digital photos will be provided every flight. If the camera fails, no compensation or refund will be given
  • Please note that the timings might be adjusted due to seasonal changes, and the specific schedule is subject to the reservation confirmation you received
Cancellation Policy
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
